A bright idea?

I'm going to do something I've never done before.
For Christmas.
For decorating.
For decorating outside my house.
Without electricity, and yet still with bulbs.

Are you curious??

I have two little Christmas type evergreen trees, one on each side of my sidewalk near my front door, and I've never paid them much attention except to trim them back in spring. But when I noticed a neighbor (one who decorates for every single holiday, and quite tastefully too) bought fake pre-lit trees like my real ones, and has them lit on her front porch, one on each side of her front door, the light bulb went on in my head.

Last night I ordered LED white solar Christmas lights from target.com. They shipped today. Their delivery date is estimated for Dec 11.

I'm excited by the possibilities of these two symmetrical trees glimmering in the night. I've never decorated with lights outside my house or my old apartment before. This is new territory.

Will the solar lights work?

Will they stay lit all night or at least until 9pm?

Will 50 lights on each tree be enough or will it look scrawny?

Will someone cut down my trees in the middle of the night?*

I'm excited to see how this all turns out.

In other news, I was back at work today. My boss praised me for my meeting minute skills. Nice.

Hal was running downstairs. He just made the "I ran out of power before I could dock myself" noise. It's different from his "I just got stuck/entangled myself" noise. I guess it's like being able to distinguish the cries from a baby.

Hal is great.

Sewing may occur this weekend. Or immense napping. Or a bit of both.

Good night.

*That happened to my parents like 40 years ago or something...
